Day 3 - Monday

Bahia San Luis Gonzaga - Bahia San Luis Gonzaga ( a few miles)

Today you'll have the choice of either spending the entire day at the beach - explore the area on your own (I recommend the 6 mile drive along the beach to Punta Final) - or I could take some of you for an exciting hike up Cañon Santa Maria.

Punta Final

The hike up Cañon Santa Maria is definitely a highlight of our trip - it is one of the few canyons carrying water all year. Most locals don't even know it exists - and tourists will most likely see only pictures of it. Alongside the regular palm trees we know from Southern California you'll encounter blue palm trees, an extremly rare species. We will follow an ancient indian trail. The white granite contrasts dramatically with the dark blue sky and green pools of fresh water. If it is not too hot we might be able to reach a huge green pool fed by a small waterfall. Bring your cameras!

Same as the night before, we'll stay at Alfonina's.
